Brand new HP OfficeJet 8015e printer installed successfully via USB cable on 8 May 2025, printed on perfect colors then today (05/15/25) will nor print on full-colors, used the entire Virtual Assistant troubleshoot protocol but not avail.
I use HP products for decades but lately it's seeing that quality control / manufacturing is sub-standard. Getting assists is very complicated since HP seen to be more interested in selling new or more products and services. I will be probably return the printer under the seller/eBay warranty.

@Sensei6, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since your HP OfficeJet 8015e printed correctly when first installed on May 8, 2025, but now fails to print red/magenta (despite a full troubleshooting cycle via the HP Virtual Assistant), here’s a focused plan to resolve the issue:
Check Ink Levels
- Go to the printer’s control panel → Tap Ink icon or check from the HP Smart App.
- Ensure Magenta ink is not low or empty. Even new printers can have startup cartridges that drain faster.
Remove & Reinstall Cartridges
- Turn off the printer.
- Open cartridge access door and remove the tri-color cartridge.
- Gently clean the copper contacts (not the nozzles) with a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Reinsert firmly and close the access door.
Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle
- From printer or HP Smart App:
- Go to: Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead (names may vary slightly).
- Run up to 3 cleaning cycles, with a test page after each.
- Check if magenta appears.
Try Printing a Diagnostic Page
- On the printer screen or via HP Smart app > Print Quality Diagnostic Page.
- If magenta section is missing or streaky, printhead is likely clogged or faulty.
Try Another Cartridge
If available, replace the tri-color cartridge (even if current one is new). Manufacturing defects are rare but possible.
Firmware Update
- Make sure your printer has the latest firmware:
- From the printer menu or HP Smart App, go to: Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
If cleaning cycles fail, remove the cartridge and soak the printhead nozzles (bottom side) in warm distilled water for 10–15 minutes. Pat dry, reinstall, and try again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
