I bought a new black ink cartridge for my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4615 printer, but it won't print. I have checked all settings in the computer, the cartridge is installed correctly, the printer is responding fine. I also cleaned the printerhead. Just no printing, it only returns blank sheets of paper. What could be the cause?

HI @Blaž78 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the cartridge not working properly!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Verify Cartridge Installation
- Ensure the cartridge is firmly and correctly installed in the printer.
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door and make sure the cartridge is securely in place.
2. Check Cartridge Compatibility
- Confirm that the cartridge is compatible with your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4615 printer model. Sometimes, incorrect or counterfeit cartridges can cause issues.
3. Remove Protective Tape
- Verify that any protective tape or covering on the cartridge’s ink nozzles has been removed. New cartridges often come with protective tape that must be removed before installation.
4. Perform Printhead Cleaning
- Use the printer software on your computer to perform a printhead cleaning.
- Go to “Tools” or “Maintenance” section in the printer software and follow the instructions for cleaning the printhead.
5. Align Printhead
- Perform a printhead alignment. Use the printer software to initiate the alignment process, which can help refocus the printhead and ensure proper ink flow.
6. Run a Test Print
- Print a test page. If the test page prints correctly, then the issue might be document-specific.
- Go to the printer software and find the option to print a test page.
7. Check Ink Levels and Vents
- Check the cartridge’s ink levels via the printer software.
- Ensure the cartridge’s ink vents are not clogged. If necessary, gently clean the vents with a soft, lint-free cloth.
8. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Steps to Reset the Printer:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
I hope this helps.
