Hi @Jeny28877,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've installed a new printhead in your printer and are still encountering the same "printhead damaged" error, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

**1. Check Printhead Installation

Power Off Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Remove and Reinstall Printhead:

  • Open the printer access door to reach the printhead.
  • Carefully remove the new printhead from its slot.
  • Check for any protective tape or packaging that may not have been removed.
  • Reinstall the printhead, making sure it is seated correctly and securely.

Close the Access Door:

  • Close the access door properly and ensure it clicks into place.

Power On Printer:

  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

**2. Clean Printhead Contacts

Access Printhead:

  • Open the printer access door to expose the printhead.

Clean Contacts:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on both the printhead and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the printhead.

**3. Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Check for Updates:
    • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
    • Download and install any available firmware updates, as these can sometimes resolve compatibility or error issues.

**4. Reset Printer

  1. Perform a Hard Reset:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

**5. Verify Cartridge Compatibility

Confirm Cartridge Model:

  • Ensure that the new printhead is compatible with your printer model. Using an incorrect printhead can cause errors.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Verify that you are using genuine HP printheads. Non-genuine cartridges may not work correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
