About a week or so ago, I ordered and installed replacement cartridges for my HP Office Jet 8720. They are 952 C, M, and Y and 952 XL Black. After printing just a handful of sheets of a PDF, my printer says the C, M, and Y are already low. The black cartridge, on the other hand, still is showing 1500 sheets worth of ink left. I called HP Tech Support yesterday but without resolution to this problem. The representative said the issue must be because my DPI setting is too high, so the color ink cartridges depleted as a result. But that does not make sense. Again, I've printed only a handful of sheets in the week since I received the cartridges, 99% of which was in black and white. I also checked my PDF print quality setting and it is "Normal" (and it's the same for Microsoft Word). I tried some suggested steps I read elsewhere on HP support webpages--unplugging the printer, cleaning the contacts, checking for debris--but nothing has helped. I am very frustrated particular given how expensive the cartridges were (over $140). Never had this issue before with this printer or cartridge refills from HP. I would appreciate help to resolve this problem. Thank you.
