I got this used printer from a person on Facebook Marketplace and set it up with no problems, only to see that no color (Black too) appears on the page. I used the digital feature to clean the printhead, but there was no sign that it was working. I also used the Print and Scan Doctor, and it did not show that anything was wrong. Does anyone have an answer to this?

@SwitchStormYT, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer that does not print on page!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet Plus 4140 might have a clogged or dried-up printhead, especially since it was bought used. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the Ink Cartridges
Make sure you're using genuine HP cartridges.
Remove and reinstall the cartridges properly.
If the cartridges are old or dried out, replacing them might be necessary.
Manually Clean the Printhead
If the digital cleaning didn’t help, try cleaning the printhead manually:
Turn off the printer and unplug it.
Remove the ink cartridges.
Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water and gently wipe the printhead where the ink comes out.
Let it dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.
Print a Test Page
Try printing a Print Quality Diagnostic Page from the printer settings to check if any ink is coming out.
If the page is blank, your cartridges might be faulty.
Perform a Hard Reset
Unplug the printer while it’s on.
Wait 60 seconds.
Plug it back in and turn it on.
Try printing again.
Check for Firmware Updates
Go to HP official site and ensure your printer has the latest firmware updates.
Try a Different Paper Type
Sometimes, the printer won’t print on glossy or specialty papers if the settings aren’t adjusted correctly.
If none of these steps work, the printhead might be permanently clogged or defective, and you may need a replacement. Let me know how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
