Hi @William0528,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your printer where it's not printing documents as expected, but it does print a test page without any issues. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Check Printer Settings: Make sure the printer is set as the default printer in your computer's settings. Also, check if the printer settings in your document print dialog box match those needed for your printer (e.g., correct paper size, input tray).

Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. This could be a USB connection or a wireless network connection. If it's a network printer, make sure your computer is connected to the same network.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the printer manufacturer’s website, download the latest driver for your printer model, and install it. If the driver is up-to-date, try reinstalling it.

Check Print Queue: Look at the print queue to see if there are any stuck jobs that might be preventing other documents from printing. You can usually access the print queue by double-clicking the printer icon in the system tray or from the control panel under "Devices and Printers."

Print from Another Program: Try printing from another program to see if the issue is specific to the program you are originally trying to print from. If it prints from other programs, the issue might be with the original program’s settings or compatibility.

Inspect Ink or Toner Levels: Even though the printer is printing test pages, there might be low ink or toner levels that are insufficient for regular document printing. Replace any low cartridges and try again.

Check for Hardware Issues: Sometimes hardware problems can cause printing issues. Check for any error messages on the printer’s display if it has one. Also, make sure there are no paper jams or other physical problems with the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
