Hi tried an Amazon ink cartridge fore my 9015e. Didn't work. Bought a HP 962 replacement cartridge. Now it says cloned or modified cartridge and it no longer prints. Help please....

@DonaldNiklas, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your non- OEM cartridge!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The HP OfficeJet 9015e is designed to work with genuine HP cartridges to ensure the best performance and reliability. The error message you’re seeing, "cloned or modified cartridge," indicates that the printer has detected a non-genuine or altered cartridge. HP printers have built-in security features that may prevent third-party or refilled cartridges from working correctly.
To resolve this, I recommend using a genuine HP 962 cartridge purchased from an authorized HP retailer. This will ensure compatibility and prevent future printing issues. If you’ve already installed a genuine HP cartridge and still see this message, let’s try a few troubleshooting steps:
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Reinstall the Cartridge: Remove the cartridge, gently clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth, and reinsert it securely.
- Update the Printer Firmware: Sometimes, an outdated firmware version can cause cartridge recognition issues. You can check for updates via the printer's settings or HP’s website.
Let me know if it helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
