Hi @Pealydan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2620 All-In-One Printer not printing black ink on two different printers, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Make sure that the black ink cartridge has sufficient ink. If it's low or empty, replace it with a new one.

Clean the Print Head:

  • Sometimes, the print head may get clogged. You can use the printer's built-in cleaning utility to clean the print head. Follow your printer's user manual for instructions on how to do this.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page to see if the issue is specific to certain documents or widespread. This can help determine if it's a software or hardware problem.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:

  • Using third-party or refilled ink cartridges can sometimes cause issues. Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges.

Check Printer Settings:

  • In your computer's printer settings, make sure that "Black and White" or "Grayscale" printing is not selected. It should be set to "Color" or "Auto" if you want to print in color.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can usually find the latest drivers on the HP website.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve printing issues.

Remove and Reinstall Printer:

  • Remove the printer from your computer and reinstall it. Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve driver-related issues.

Try a Different Document:

  • Test printing a different document or image to see if the issue persists across all print jobs.

Inspect the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Remove the black ink cartridge and check the contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer for any dirt, debris, or damage. Clean them gently if needed.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear temporary issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
