HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer

With brand new HP ink cartridges installed, the printer will go through all the motions of printing. I can hear it as the paper is coming out, but nothing actually prints on the page.

Hi @RenaBean,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

That sounds frustrating! Let's try some troubleshooting steps to get your HP ENVY 7645 back on track:

Check the Ink Cartridges: First, make sure the plastic tape on the cartridges was fully removed before installation. Take out the cartridges and inspect them—if they look dry or clogged, try cleaning the print nozzles with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.

Run Printhead Cleaning: On your printer’s touchscreen, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead. Perform the cleaning up to three times if needed.

Align the Printer: Navigate to Setup > Tools > Align Printer on the touchscreen and follow the steps. Print a test page and check if any ink appears.

Check for Firmware Updates: Outdated firmware can cause printing issues. Visit HP Support and enter your model to check for updates.

Try a Hard Reset: Remove the ink cartridges and unplug the printer while it’s ON. Wait 60 seconds before plugging it back in. Reinstall the cartridges and try printing again.
