Product: OfficeJet Pro 6978

The color ink cartridges are out of stock.  My printer returns a "printer unavailable" message because the cartridges I installed, it says, are defective.  So... is there a way to override this so that I can at least print in black and white?

Please follow below support document, both for claiming a cartridge replacement and for setting the printer to print in Black & White only to allow printing:
