macOS 12.0 Monterey

As instructed, yesterday morning I replaced an empty Y cartridge on my OfficePo 9025.  A message popped up saying the Y cartridge was missing or defective, and I could not bypass it to print.   I took that cartridge back to the store and got a replacement.  I installed the replacement yesterday night and it worked fine until this afternoon, when the same message popped up.  I have removed and reinstalled the cartridge several times, without turning the machine off and after turning it off.  The message will not go away, and the printer will not print.  It is only two years old but out of warranty.

Any thoughts?
