Hi @Anne0405,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure the new black ink cartridge is installed correctly. It should click into place securely.
Run a Printhead Cleaning:
- Access the printer control panel or use the HP software on your computer to initiate a printhead cleaning. This can help in unclogging the nozzles.
Align the Printhead:
- Perform a printhead alignment. This option is available through the printer's utility software or the control panel.
Check the Vents:
- Remove the black ink cartridge and examine the vent on top. If it is clogged, gently unclog it with a pin.
Check Estimated Ink Levels:
- Verify the ink levels using the printer's control panel. A faulty reading might show a full cartridge, but a manual check can confirm if ink is available.
Print a Test Page:
- Print a Printer Status Report or a quality diagnostics page to determine if black ink is being applied to paper at all.
Reinstall the Cartridges:
- Sometimes reinserting the cartridges helps establish a proper connection.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is any firmware update available for the printer, as certain updates can fix printing issues.
Try a Different Software Application:
- Attempt to print from a different application to rule out software issues.
I hope this helps.
