Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hp Officejet Pro 6968, Black won't print, firmware updated, Error message says can't read scan to align printheads.  Went all through scan doctor, etc.  Black cartridge is half full.  Replaced all color Insta-ink cartridges, black cartridge not provided.  Tried several applications but black still won't print.
