Based on your issue, it appears that your printer is not printing colors correctly, particularly black ink. Here's a detailed troubleshooting guide to help resolve your problem:

Run a Printhead Check:

  • Start by running a printhead check to see if all the nozzles are firing correctly.
  • If you notice that the black ink is completely missing, it might indicate an issue with the printheads.

Inspect the Printheads:

  • Perform a manual cleaning using lint-free cloth and distilled water. The steps are:
    • Remove the black and cyan printheads from the printer.
    • Soak a lint-free cloth with distilled water and gently blot the printheads.
    • Clean around the outside carefully without using alcohol.
  • Reinsert the printheads and close the printer lid. It will automatically run a printhead alignment test.

Run Cleaning Cycles:

  • Target the black printheads and run cleaning cycles multiple times to see if the black ink starts printing again.

Check the Maintenance Cartridge:

  • Ensure the maintenance cartridge is not full. If it is almost full, replace it with a new one.

Print Quality Test Patterns:

  • Print test patterns designed with pure hues enabled (using software like ONYX).
  • Make sure to include solid colors such as 100% cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to identify which colors are missing.
