@PJ200, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Ink Cartridges
Low or Empty Cartridges: Sometimes if one color ink cartridge is low or empty, it can cause color shifts in prints. Make sure the ink cartridges (especially the cyan and magenta) are properly installed and have enough ink.
Cartridge Placement: Ensure that the ink cartridges are seated properly in their slots. If they're not, the printer may not be able to properly mix the inks.
Run a Printer Diagnostic or Clean the Print Heads
Print Head Cleaning: Over time, the print head can get clogged or misaligned, which can affect the color output. Run the "Clean Printhead" utility from the printer settings (either from the printer's control panel or through the HP software on your computer).
Align the Printer Heads: Sometimes, misalignment can cause color distortion. You can also run the alignment tool from the printer settings.
Check Printer Settings
Color Mode: Ensure your printer is set to print in color mode, not grayscale or black-and-white. Sometimes, printers accidentally default to black-only printing.
Print Quality: If you have the print quality set to “draft,” it could be affecting the accuracy of colors. Try setting it to "Normal" or "Best" quality.
Software or Driver Issues
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers: If the printer drivers are outdated or corrupted, it could cause color issues. Try updating the printer drivers from the HP website or reinstall them.
Check Your Image: Sometimes, the issue could be with the image itself. Make sure that the photo you're printing has accurate colors when viewed on your screen. Try printing a different image to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
