Poor print quality

HP Recommended
Deskjet 2620
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have a Deskjet 2620 which is four years old.  There are missing lines on the print and I have run the diagnostic test and clean the cartridges  several times.  I use instant ink and the levels are half full.  I am still using the first set of cartridges so I obviously don't do a lot of printing.
