Microsoft Windows 11

I set up a 4x6 post card with print centered on the page but when I print it always prints to the right of center even if I move the text to the left more.

@oldfaithful2, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check your printer settings in the print dialog:

  • Open the document and select Print.
  • In the printer settings, make sure the paper size is set to 4x6.
  • Look for a setting like Page Scaling or Fit to Page and ensure it's set to None or Actual Size.

Check your Printer Preferences:

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Ensure that the paper size is set correctly to 4x6 and the layout or margins are not set to default or any custom values that could shift the print.

Make sure the margin settings in your document are correct:

  • Go to your document's page layout or margins.
  • Double-check that the margins are set to standard or symmetric values (top, bottom, left, right).

If printing from a specific application (like Microsoft Word), ensure that:

The page setup within the app is correctly set to 4x6.

In Word, go to File > Print > Page Setup and verify the paper size and alignment.

Test printing with a different document or a test image to see if the issue persists, ruling out any specific document setup issues.

If the problem continues, update or reinstall the printer driver to ensure all settings are correctly applied.

As a last resort, try printing a test page directly from the printer’s control panel to ensure the printer itself isn’t misaligned.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
