Hi @MatF1
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer is experiencing horizontal lines across photo prints after changing ink cartridges, even after cleaning and aligning.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Check Print Settings
- Open HP Smart or HP Printer Assistant.
- Go to Print Settings and set Print Quality to Best.
- Ensure Borderless Printing is enabled for photos.
2. Use High-Quality Photo Paper
- Some users have reported issues with glossy Kodak photo paper.
- Try using HP-recommended photo paper for better ink absorption.
3. Clean the Printhead Again
- Open HP Smart and navigate to Printer Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- Perform multiple clean cycles if needed.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Visit the HP Support page and download the latest firmware update.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16 - Install the update and restart the printer.
5. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Let me know if any of these steps help! 😊
