I have a Laser jet pro MFP M277dw printer, and all of a sudden the printed page has a crease 3 1/2 inches from left margin, and where the crease is the toner rubs off. What is the issue?

@ErnaP01,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for safety.
  • Open the front door of the printer to access the toner cartridges.
  • Remove the toner cartridges gently, one at a time, and set them aside.
  • Check the paper path for any visible obstruction or jam. If you see any bits of paper, carefully remove them.
  • Inspect the fuser area (where the toner is permanently fixed onto the paper). If the fuser has a buildup of toner or any damage, it could be causing the crease.
  • Clean the fuser if necessary, using a soft, lint-free cloth. Be careful, as the fuser can get very hot.
  • Check the paper: Ensure you're using the correct paper type for the printer and that the paper is not wrinkled or damaged.
  • Reinstall the toner cartridges after checking the fuser and paper path.
  • Close the front door, plug in the printer, and power it on.
  • Test the printer by printing a test page to check if the crease is still present.

If the issue persists:

  • Fuser replacement: If the fuser is damaged, you might need to replace it.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
