Hi,
I currently own a HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series, and out of the blue today, it stopped printing any cyan ink. I followed the instructions on the virtual assistant and wiping the copper-colored contact on the cartridge as well as inside the printhead allowed some of the cyan ink to appear. However, after a couple of times, the cyan ink stopped appearing again. I cleaned the printhead multiple times and also did a hard reset and neither of them worked. The only thing that did anything was cleaning the copper contact but it only works for the first 2 prints and even then only a bit of cyan showed. I did do a bit of heavy printing today after a few weeks of nothing so that might be the case. This problem was only with the cyan ink, and the rest of the colors were working perfectly fine.

Hi @Kamui890
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e is struggling with cyan ink flow, even after multiple cleanings and resets.
Since you've already tried the basics, here are some additional steps that might help:
Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.
Clean the printhead (HP Smart app)
Clean the ink smears (HP Smart app)
Check ink cartridges
Very low ink levels, using non-HP cartridges, and rough handling can cause print quality issues.
Check the paper, print settings, and quality of the file being printed
Print an alignment page with the HP Smart App
For detailed instructions on how to perform the above steps, please click on the link below:
Perform a Deep Printhead Cleaning
- Go to Printer Settings → Reports → Print Quality Report to check if cyan is missing.
- Run the Deep Cleaning option (if available) in the printer’s maintenance settings.
Manually Clean the Printhead with Distilled Water
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the cyan cartridge and gently clean the printhead contacts with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
- Let it dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
Since cyan ink appeared briefly after cleaning the contacts, it’s likely a clogged printhead or ink flow issue. Try these steps and let me know if you need further assistance! 🚀
