Hi @Verilee,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out — I’m truly sorry to hear you’re having this frustrating experience with your HP printer. I understand how inconvenient it is when your printer scans fine but prints with missing lines and jagged borders. Let’s carefully go through the recommended steps to help get this resolved.
1️. Check Ink Levels
- On your printer’s control panel, look for the Ink Icon or go to Settings > Ink Levels.
- Make sure all cartridges have sufficient ink, especially black.
2️. Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Page
- On the printer control panel, go to: Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report
- Check the test page for missing lines, streaks, or jagged borders.
3️. Clean the Printhead
- From the printer control panel: Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead
- You may need to run this 2-3 times if the first cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue.
4️. Align the Printhead
- Go to: Setup > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead
- Follow the on-screen instructions and print the alignment page.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
