My HP OfficeJet 5220 printer came with a 302 ink.
I can't find that replacement and HP recommends 63 but the printer says is not compatible.
is 63 really the right replacement if 302 is no longer available?
If so, then why is not compatible?

Hi@SAG225,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing issues with the HP OfficeJet 5220 All-In-One Printer.
I have a few recommendations
- Replace low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer. Clean the cartridge contacts and check if it helps. Clean the ink cartridge contacts. If the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
- Turn off the power and unplug the printer from the outlet and let it sit for 10 or so minutes. Plug it back in and re-insert the cartridge. Turn the power back on and this should work and your new cartridge should work!
- If one or more cartridges is still not recognized then the microchip on the cartridge may be faulty or may not be making a firm contact with the printers terminals. If this is the case remove the offending cartridges and check if the printer terminals are clean and not damaged.
- Replacement cartridges are HP 302 Black Ink Original Cartridge, HP 302 Tri-colour Original Ink Cartridge, HP 302XL Black Ink Cartridge, HP 302XL Tri-colour Original Ink Cartridge.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
