I am writing to find out how to get where my color ink cartridge registers in the printer. I replaced the black one and it shows full, but the color one is not registering in it. They are both from Amazon. The black one did just fine and then I realized the color one still had the tape at the bottom so then I took it out and pulled the tape off, then put it back. but it's still not reading the colored one. The yellow light is still flashing and showing no ink. Please help

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your color ink cartridge not registering in your HP printer. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Step 1: Ensure Proper Installation

  1. Open the printer's cartridge access door.
  2. Wait until the ink carriage stops moving.
  3. Remove the color cartridge from the printer.
  4. Make sure the protective tape has been completely removed from the cartridge.
  5. Reinstall the color cartridge in the correct slot, ensuring it is firmly seated.

Step 2: Clean Cartridge Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the cartridge access door and remove the color cartridge.
  3. Clean the electrical contacts of the cartridge using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water or an alcohol wipe.
  4. Clean the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
  5. Reinstall the cartridge and close the access door.

Step 3: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn the printer off by pressing the power button.
  2. Wait for about 30 seconds and then turn the printer back on.
  3. Check if the color cartridge is now recognized.

Step 4: Check Cartridge Compatibility

  1. Verify that the cartridge you purchased is compatible with your printer model. Check the cartridge label and compare it with the compatible cartridge numbers specified for your printer model.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
