HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

The printer used to print and scan great and I had no issues until recently. It appears to only be happening with the black ink. I do have an Instant Ink account and the estimated level of black ink shown is about half. It's not printing  the bottom part of text on a line. It's throughout a document, a whole line at a time, usually at the end of a paragraph.  I've run the cleaning and alignment tools, quality diagnostics and cleaned the cartridge, more than once, according to HP instructions. Nothing has worked thus far.

Any ideas?

Hi @K9JAJ

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting already—let's explore some additional steps to address the issue with your HP ENVY Pro 6455:

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page directly from the printer's control panel. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer hardware or the document/software you're using.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website to ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can resolve compatibility and performance issues.

Inspect the Ink Cartridge:

  • Even though the estimated ink level shows as half, the cartridge might still be clogged or faulty. Try replacing the black ink cartridge with a new one to rule out cartridge issues.

Clean the Printhead Manually:

  • If the automated cleaning tool hasn't resolved the issue, you can try cleaning the printhead manually. Refer to your printer's manual or HP's support resources for detailed instructions.

Adjust Print Settings:

  • In the print dialog box on your computer, check the print quality settings. Set it to "Best" or "High Quality" to see if it improves the output.

Test with a Different Document:

  • Try printing a different document or file to ensure the issue isn't related to the specific document you're working with.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:
