Microsoft Windows 11

I've just bought a brand new HP Envy 6034e, followed all the steps to install it. The printer is not printing colour properly - only black and yellow - this has been the case since its printed the test page. I have tried resetting the printer and Cleaning the Printhead via Alignment and Maintenance - no solutions so far...

Hi @ddilyy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check Ink Levels

Ensure that the color ink cartridge (cyan and magenta) is not empty. Low ink levels can cause printing issues.

2. Clean the Printheads

Since you have already performed some printhead cleaning via alignment and maintenance, try a more thorough cleaning:

  1. Access Printer Settings: Go to the printer's control panel or use the HP Smart app.
  2. Run Deep Cleaning: Navigate to the maintenance section and select a deep cleaning cycle.

3. Reinstall Ink Cartridges

Sometimes, reinstalling the ink cartridges can help ensure proper contact:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Remove the ink cartridges and reinsert them carefully, ensuring they are properly seated.

4. Check for Blockages

Even new printers can sometimes have blockages:

  1. Remove the ink cartridges.
  2. Inspect the contacts and nozzles on the cartridges and inside the cartridge holder for any dirt or obstructions.
  3. Gently clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water if necessary.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date, as updates can fix bugs and issues:

  1. Go to the HP support website and find the firmware update for your specific printer model.
  2. Follow the instructions to download and install any available updates.

6. Perform a Printhead Alignment

Proper alignment helps in resolving issues related to print quality:

  1. Use the printer's control panel or HP Smart app to initiate the printhead alignment process.
  2. Carefully follow the on-screen instructions.

7. Replace Ink Cartridges

If none of the above steps work, it might be a faulty ink cartridge, even if it is new:

  1. Obtain a new set of genuine HP ink cartridges.
  2. Replace the current cartridges and test with new ones.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Kuroi_Kenshi for your reply. None of the below worked and it turned out I had to purchase brand new ink cartridges. I was pretty disappointed that I had to fork out more money after buying a brand new printer..

Thanks for your help anyways.
