Hi @Manuela107,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is only printing in blue and black and not producing full color, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Color Ink Levels

  • Even if the ink levels appear okay, verify that color cartridges are not low or empty. Replace any that are low or empty.

2. Run the Print Head Cleaning Utility

  • Most printers have a maintenance option for cleaning the print heads, which can help clear clogged nozzles:
    • Open your printer software (e.g., HP Smart).
    • Look for Maintenance or Tools, then select Clean Printhead or Clean Cartridges.

3. Print a Test Page

  • Printing a test page can help identify color issues:
    • Access the printer settings through your computer or printer menu.
    • Look for an option to print a test page and check if all colors are functioning.

4. Check Print Settings

  • Ensure the print settings are set to use color:
    • In the print dialog box, make sure "Print in Color" is selected, not "Print in Grayscale" or "Black & White."

5. Update or Reinstall Drivers

  • Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause printing issues. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed from the HP support website.

6. Perform a Printer Reset

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

7. Check for Software Conflicts

  • If you are using third-party software to print, try using the printer’s native software or print directly from an application like Word or Adobe.

8. Inspect Cartridges

  • Remove and reinsert the color cartridges to ensure they are seated properly. Check for any protective tape that might not have been removed from new cartridges.

9. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can diagnose and fix printing issues automatically.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
