Ubuntu LTS

I have an Ubuntu laptop and an Android phone.  Prior to a new HPLIP update about six months ago everything both devices printed on my printer was great. Since then my printer still prints all printer menu driven reports perfectly but anything I actually "Need" the printer to print (e.g., pdf forms, pictures, text documents, and even test pages from my laptop) ends up having a shadow about .5 mm below rendering the output useless.

  • I have aligned the cartridges three separate times in the past months.
  • I just installed the hplip-3.21.2 software on my Ubuntu system but there is no change.
  • I have tried to searched the boards but only found Windows 10 user questions about "shadows"

Is there any way to fix this so my printer can be useful again?
