Hi @Cass371,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges to make sure they are seated correctly.
- Check for any protective tape on the ink nozzles and remove it.
Clean the Printhead Manually:
- If the automated cleaning process doesn't work, you can try cleaning the printhead manually.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water to gently clean the printhead and ink nozzles.
Run a Second or Advanced Cleaning Cycle:
- Sometimes, running the cleaning cycle multiple times can help resolve the clogging.
- Access the printer settings and run a second or advanced cleaning cycle.
Check Printer Configuration:
- Verify that the correct paper type and size are selected in the printer settings.
- Make sure that the printer is set to print in color or grayscale, as needed.
Perform a Power Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
- This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
Update Printer Firmware and Software:
- Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date.
- Download and install any available updates from the HP Support website.
Print Diagnostic and Alignment Pages:
- Print a diagnostic page to check the printhead and alignment.
- This can help identify any issues with print quality.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges, as third-party cartridges can sometimes cause issues.
I hope this helps.
