Hi @Tizzie2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Follow these instructions:

Prepare the Ink Bottle:

  • Ensure that the ink bottle corresponds to the correct color tank.
  • Twist open the cap of the ink bottle and remove the seal. Replace and tighten the cap back onto the bottle, and then flip open the cap.

Open the Ink Tank:

  • Open the front door of the printer.
  • Open the cap on the ink tank that needs to be filled.

Install the Ink Bottle:

  • Place the bottle upside down over the tank's fill port.
  • Make sure the bottle clicks into place securely.

Wait for the Ink to Fill:

  • Allow the ink to drain into the tank. This process may take up to three minutes if the tank is completely empty.

Troubleshooting Tips if Ink is Not Filling:

  • Proper Alignment: Make sure the ink bottle is properly aligned with the tank’s fill port. If ink does not drain immediately, remove the bottle and reinsert it properly.
  • Do Not Squeeze: Ensure that you do not squeeze the ink bottle. This can obstruct the flow of ink.
  • Check Residual Ink: If there is leftover ink in the bottle, close it properly and store it upright in a cool, dark place.
  • No Ink Overflow: Ink tanks are designed to prevent overflow, so carefully monitor the ink level and stop filling once the tank is full.

Visual Instructions:

You can view the video on how to install an ink bottle and refill ink using the following link: Installing Ink Bottles and Refilling Ink.

Safety and Precautions:

  • Keep ink bottles out of reach of children.
  • Do not drink or place ink bottles in your mouth.
  • Store ink bottles in a cool, dark place.
  • Use only original HP ink to avoid warranty issues.

I hope this helps.
