HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2775 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I print 99% of my documents in draft mode with setting black and white in monochrome (unless i accidentally forget to set black and white plus monochrome)

First issue: My color ink drains almost as fast as my black ink, around 0.75 to 1 ratio (color/black)

When the color is empty the printer refuses to print in black, even though i select black and white with monochrome

How to prevent color being wasted? should i select grayscale instead of monochrome?

Second issue: My printer often, sometimes multiple times per week, prints out a test page, which wastes (color)ink and paper

Every time i get a test page i scan it

When everything is working i never had any problem or degraded quality in my prints or noticed anything out of alignment which would validate printing yet more test pages and scanning for calibration

Can this be fixed (i am still in warrenty) or should i just consider this printer e-waste and buy a competitor brand printer?

So far i am extremely dissatisfied with my purchase while i was very happy with a previous model that performed well for many years.
