Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Office Jet Pro 1925e.  it has printed in color for the last 2 months since i bought it.  now it will only print in grey scale.  There is no setting for me to change to print color or grey scale.  The color inks are good level, I have unplugged the printer and repowered it, and still no color printing or copying.  Suggestions please.

Hi @ssspicewood,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps, which is great. Since you've confirmed that the color ink levels are good and you've power cycled the printer, let's explore a few more potential solutions.

  • Check Printer Settings: Even if you haven't found a specific setting for color vs. grayscale, it's worth checking all the printer settings in the print dialog box on your computer. Sometimes, there might be an option buried within the advanced settings or preferences that allows you to specify color printing.
  • Driver Update: Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause unexpected behavior in printers. You can usually download the latest drivers from HP website.
  • Test Print from Different Device: If possible, try printing a color document from a different device, such as a smartphone or another computer. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or with the device you're printing from.
  • Clean Print Heads: Even if the ink levels are good, there may be a blockage in the print heads preventing the color ink from being used. Most printers have a utility for cleaning the print heads, which you can typically access through the printer's settings menu.
  • Check Printer Software: Sometimes, printer software can have glitches that prevent color printing. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software on your computer to see if that resolves the issue.

Hopefully, one of these steps will help you get your printer back to printing in color!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
