I said my operating system was unknown, but it is MS365 which wasn't an option.
I printed a black and white brochure (8 pages-both sides), the first 3 pages are find but starting on page 4 it started printing in green. There is plenty of ink, the color cartridge is full and the black is 3/4 full.
What might cause this and how to stop it from happening again?

@Chawton1810, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Diagnosing and Fixing Printing Issues in Green!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When a document starts printing in green unexpectedly, it can be due to several reasons such as misconfiguration in print settings, driver issues, or printhead problems. Below are some steps you can follow to diagnose and possibly fix the issue:
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that your print settings are correct and you have selected the appropriate options for black-and-white printing.
- Open the print dialog in your application and choose the correct media type and print quality.
Run Print Quality Diagnostic:
- Print a print quality report from your printer. This can help diagnose if there's an issue with the printhead or cartridges.
- Load plain white paper into the input tray.
- On your printer's control panel, navigate to 'Setup' > 'Tools' > 'Print Quality Report'. Follow the prompts to print the report.
Printhead Alignment and Cleaning:
- Sometimes, print quality issues can be resolved by aligning and cleaning the printheads.
- In your printer's control panel, go to 'Setup' > 'Tools' > 'Align Printer'. Follow the instructions to align the print heads.
- You can also clean the printheads. Go to 'Setup' > 'Tools' > 'Clean Printhead', and follow the instructions.
Software and Driver Updates:
- Ensure that the printer drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
Inspect Ink Levels and Cartridges:
- Even though your display indicated that the ink levels are sufficient, inspect the cartridges manually. Sometimes, the nozzles or contacts can get clogged.
- Remove the cartridges from the printer, gently clean the cartridges with a lint-free cloth, and then reinstall them.
Print Settings in MS365:
- If you are printing from an application within MS365 (e.g., Word, Excel), check the print settings in the application. Ensure that the selected color mode is ‘Black and White’ or ‘Grayscale’.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
