Printing and copying blank paper , no print visible. Screen on printer shows ink in cartridges. Can not find how to print a test page, or print head cleaning, from the printer screen. I did find a spec page which printed blank.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 4520 has been in storage for a couple of years, the issue is likely clogged ink nozzles or dried ink in the printhead. Here’s what you can try:

Step 1: Perform Additional Printhead Cleanings

Since you've already done the first and second-level cleanings from the printer menu, try running the third-level cleaning (if available). If that doesn’t work, move to manual cleaning.

Step 2: Manually Clean the Printhead

1. Remove the ink cartridges and place them on a paper towel with the nozzle side up.
2. Dampen a lint-free cloth or paper towel with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
3. Gently wipe the printhead area inside the printer where the cartridges sit.
4. Use a cotton swab dipped in warm water to clean the nozzle area.
5. Let it air dry for 5-10 minutes, then reinstall the cartridges and try printing again.

Step 3: Try Soaking the Printhead

If the printhead is still clogged:

1. Remove the ink cartridges.
2. Soak the printhead area (where ink comes out) in a shallow dish of warm distilled water for about 5-10 minutes.
3. Pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
4. Let it air dry completely before reinstalling.

Step 4: Try a Different Set of Cartridges

• If the cartridges have been sitting unused for years, the ink may have dried inside them.
• Try replacing them with a new set of genuine HP 63 or 63XL cartridges.

Step 5: Reset the Printer

1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
2. Wait 2-3 minutes.
3. Plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Try printing again.
