Will only print in blue. I’ve done all alignments and cleanings and the test sheets it printed after those cleanings were both mostly blank

Hi @kristakristakri,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the printer cartridge or the printer itself. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check ink levels: Ensure that the color ink cartridges, especially the cyan (blue) one, have sufficient ink. If any cartridge is low or empty, replace it with a new one.
  • Clean printheads: Use the printer's software utility to clean the printheads again. Sometimes, multiple cleaning cycles may be required to clear any clogs or blockages in the printheads.
  • Print a diagnostic page: Most printers have a function to print a diagnostic or test page. This page can help identify if there are any issues with specific colors or printheads. If the diagnostic page shows that only blue is printing properly, it could indicate a problem with the other color cartridges or printheads.
  • Inspect cartridges and printheads: Remove the color cartridges and inspect them for any visible damage or leaks. Also, check the printheads for any obstructions or debris that may be blocking the ink flow.
  • Reset the printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its default settings can resolve printing issues. Refer to the printer's manual or support documentation for instructions on how to perform a reset.
  • Update printer drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers and firmware installed for your printer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing problems.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with your printer only printing in blue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
