Printing issue - OfficeJet Pro 8710

HP Recommended
OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I acquired a used OfficeJet Pro 8710, bought some new cartridges and installed them.  Cyan is printing pretty clearly.  Magenta, Yellow, and Black are spotty, almost not printing at all.  I suspect the heads are dirty/clogged.  Any tips for resolving the problem or did I just waste $100 on ink?

Also, when did HP stop enclosing the cartridges in the foil packs inside the boxes and without the protective tabs?  Or am I used to older models that did that?

Thanks for any assistance,

Will

@WmLGardner

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand you're experiencing an issue with the ink cartridge. If you have already performed the steps from the document Ink cartridge errors: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04100778  Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the ink cartridge service options. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Pro-tip: To check the authenticity of a toner cartridge, either use a QR code app to scan the QR code on the toner cartridge box, or go to Validate Security Seal type the toner cartridge serial number, and then click Verify.

Hope this helps!
