Hi I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e. I am trying to print on 120GSM Pearl Paper and I keep messing with the paper type but every time I print, the ink does not dry and smudges. Can this printer not print on pearl paper? Or is there a paper type option I should be using that's more compatible with this paper?

Hi @sbzigs,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Select the Correct Paper Type in Printer Settings:

  • Open the print dialog on your computer.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e printer.
  • Go to Properties or Printer Preferences.
  • Under the Paper/Quality tab, select a paper type that is closest to your pearl paper. You may want to try options like Brochure Paper or Professional Paper.
  • Apply the changes and try printing again.

Use High-Quality Print Settings:

  • Change print quality to high, which may help the ink adhere better to the paper and reduce smudging.Print Quality Settings: - Select `Best` or `High Quality` for print quality.

Adjust Ink Settings:

  • Some printers allow you to adjust the ink settings. Look for options like Ink Volume or Slow Drying, and adjust accordingly.
  • If you can adjust the ink settings, select lower ink volume for better results.

Perform a Test Print:

  • Print a small section of your document to check if the changes improve ink drying.

Wait for Ink to Dry:

  • Allow a longer drying time before handling the paper. Specialty papers like pearl paper may need more time for the ink to properly dry.

Try Different Paper Brands:

  • Not all pearl papers are created equally. Sometimes ink compatibility depends on the specific brand and coating of the paper. Trying different brands may help.

I hope this helps.
