Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Every time I try to print out coupons on this printer they come out with a drop shadow it seems like and they never scan at the store. Any store, whether it be Walmart or the grocery store or even Dollar General. I’m wondering if there’s a way to adjust the printer settings to fix this? I’ve tried different browsers as well as pdf printings vs photo printings and word printings, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the HP Community.

 

The first thing to check is whether the printer is "doing its best work".

Solutions for poor printing quality, presented in the order to be completed / considered:

 Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

 

What else?

The printer is unaware of what it is printing.

 

In all except the printing of an image file, there are "translations" made by the printing software / application you are using to view and submit the job to the printer.  For example, PDF printing and Word documents are subject to "take the document and translate it into printer language".  Some content might not translate, including for example, some bars and badges, content from tables, and printable "coupon scans", strange or embedded fonts used by the website developer.

 

If all else has failed - and assuming the printer has passed all the alignment and print tests - try Snipping the content you need to print from the website, save the content as a .jpg file, and print.

Avoid Screenshots altogether – Capture what you want from the screen.

Create a Snip of the information on the page > save the snipped image as a .jpg file > print that file.

What else?

If you can do so, save the website page to your mobile device.

When you get to the store, ask the clerk to scan the content right from your phone / mobile device screen.

Open Subsection:  Private Pickup (HP+ printers only)

Enable / Disable the service to hold the print job until the person who sent it is near the printer.
