Black ink cartridge ran out of ink a week ago.  I replaced it today with a new HP @ 902XL and now the scan function works great - all colors are good, but when sending a print job from the computer I get a 100% BLACK page.  I have reinstalled the printer and the drivers, but no change.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?

Meanwhile:-

Run a Print Quality Diagnostic report

Use a Print Quality Diagnostic report to check if the printhead or ink cartridges need to be cleaned or if there is an alignment issue.

  1. Load plain white paper in the tray.

  2. Print the report.

    • Printers with a touchscreen or menus: On the printer, open the Settings or Setup menu, touch Tools or Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report or similar.

If that does not print fine, follow the below steps:-

Run the automated printhead or ink cartridge cleaning tool

Clean the printhead and cartridges to resolve print quality issues including incorrect colors, streaks, and faded prints.

  1. Load plain white paper in the tray.

  2. Run the cleaning tool.

    • Printers with a touchscreen or menus: On the printer, open the Settings or Setup menu, touch Tools or Printer Maintenance, and then touch Clean Printhead or Clean Cartridges.

  3. If the page that prints has defects, the printhead might be badly clogged. Run up to two more cleaning cycles.

I tried all the things on the list of suggested fixes and the problem still existed.  I forced a Windows update and that solved the problem.   I'm not for sure that is what solved the problem, as it might have been the shut-down and re-start after the Windows update.  At any rate, it works great now.    Thank You to  Sandytechy20 for your help.  😁
