Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

Hi, I have a PhotoSmart Printer 5524 which just lately has been producing a dark tone to my pictures. I cleaned the printhead and ink smears and alligned printer but to no avail. Any ideas to bring back to normal?

@Dónal, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Try making a standalone copy in color and check if that prints fine. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Have you tried printing the same picture on a regular paper to check if the issue persists?

 

Check the print settings on the application you are using to print. Refer to - Print Driver Settings Guide

Check the 'Print quality and improvement settings' where you may choose from Draft, Normal or Best mode of printing.

Hi KUMAR0307,

 

The Standalone copy worked perfectly. Does this mean that the problem is a Hardware issue?

I had already gone into the Driver Settings and changed to 'best' but the dark tone still persists.

If the copy works fine, it means the hardware of the printer is working fine. It could be the settings. 

Did you check the print settings on the app you are using to print?

Are you able to print fine on plain paper?

Does this issue happen only while printing on photo papers??

What type of photo papers are you using?

Yes I checked the print settings on the app. Nothing seems amiss there.

I am printing only on plain paper. A4 Laser copier paper.

A4 Laser copier paper is not compatible with this model printer. You will have to use Inkjet papers. Refer to printer specifications to check the supported paper types.

Ok, I'll take that on board. I have been using A4 Laser Copier Paper for a long time without any problems. I have this printer since 2013, maybe I need a new one. Thanks again for all your assistance.
