@Tr1031, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering a "Problem with printer or ink system" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8625. This issue is often related to ink cartridge recognition, printhead problems, or internal hardware faults. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve it:

Reset the Printer

A simple reset can often clear temporary errors.

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Check if the error persists.

Check and Reseat Ink Cartridges

Improperly seated cartridges can trigger ink system errors.

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove each cartridge and inspect for ink buildup or damage.
  • Reinsert each cartridge firmly into its slot.
  • Close the access door and wait for the printer to initialize.

Clean the Printhead

If the printhead is clogged or dirty, it can cause ink system failures.

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues.

If the error persists after cleaning, the printhead may be faulty and require replacement.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
