Purchased wrong cartridge and OPENED it!

So I did it too!  I purchased the wrong cartridge from Staples, got it home and opened it only to find that it's the WRONG ONE!  They won't take it back and it is $100!  I feel so foolish but, of course, it is in perfect condition, unused.  Does HP accept exchanges if we return it to them directly?

Not that I am aware - "sympathy returns" might be considered good business if there are one or ten.

Not-so-much if there are thousands -- and there well could be that many people who make the same mistake.

 

That said...

You can hope until told otherwise.
