I have the same problem with 2 printers: HP ENVY 7640 and HP ENVY 5530. I completed all of the steps recommended by the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.4.2 app, and was only able to print from the HP Smart App. Only able to print PDF with the app. Can also print from Email. Not able to print anything from any other application.
What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android or an iPhone?
If windows,Try the below suggestions-
1)Uninstall HP Smart
2)Install all the available Windows updates
