HP deskjet 5820
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi there,

I refilled my HP Deskjet 5820 printer with black ink. GT51 black ink is unavailable on the HP India website so the vendor I contacted sold me GT53 XL ink as compatible ink with my printer. After refilling, my printer is giving a "Colour Ink Incompatible" as per HP Smart. I did not touch the colour ink at all.

How can this problem be solved ? The printer will not print anything at all.

Thank you

Hi @NAG82,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are receiving  cartridge error message.

Ink bottle information for HP DeskJet GT 5820, 5821, and 5822 All-in-One printers.

Try the below suggestions to resolve the error-

Reset the product

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

And try the steps in the document to resolve the cartridge error -https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_1721989-1461843-16

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
