If you've replaced the black cartridge in your HP Officejet Pro 6978 All-In-One Printer and it's still not printing, and you're unable to align the cartridges due to the lack of black ink, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

 

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the new black cartridge is properly installed. Make sure it is securely seated in its slot and that you've removed any protective tape or packaging from the cartridge.

Check for Ink Levels:

  • Check the ink levels on your printer to ensure that the new black cartridge is recognized and has sufficient ink. You can usually check this information from the printer's control panel or through the printer software on your computer.

Clean the Printhead Manually:

  • If the automatic cleaning options are not resolving the issue, you can try cleaning the printhead manually. This process might vary slightly depending on your printer model, but generally, you can access the printhead through the printer settings on the control panel or through the printer software on your computer.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP support website, locate your printer model, and download and install the latest firmware if available.

Run a Diagnostic Test:
