Hi @MichelleB525,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter an error message like "E0" after replacing the ink cartridge in your HP DeskJet 2734 printer, it typically indicates that the printer is not recognizing the newly installed cartridge. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Ensure Proper Installation: Make sure the ink cartridge is correctly installed in the printer. Open the printer cover and verify that the cartridge is securely seated in its slot. Sometimes, improper installation can lead to recognition issues.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Ink residue or dirt on the cartridge contacts can prevent proper communication between the cartridge and the printer. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to gently clean the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer. Be careful not to touch the nozzles or copper-colored contacts with your fingers.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. Restarting the printer can sometimes clear temporary errors and reset the printer's internal memory.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can address compatibility issues with ink cartridges. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
  • Use Genuine HP Cartridges: While refilled cartridges can be a cost-effective alternative, some printers may not recognize them properly, leading to errors. Consider using genuine HP ink cartridges to ensure compatibility and proper functioning of your printer.
  • Reset Printer: If the issue persists, you may need to perform a reset on your printer. Refer to the printer's user manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to reset your specific printer model.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the "E0" error message on your HP DeskJet 2734 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
