Replacement ink

I have had a monthly subscription for ink over the past 4 years.

The cartridges are still 73% full and I tried to cancel subscription today ! 

I have been told the ink left will not work so I will have to go on paying or buy cartridges which will cost £60! 

I have probably paid at least £80 + ! 

I was horrified to hear how one is almost blackmailed in continuing the subscription!

There has been no consideration to the amount of money spent already for 30% of ink used ! 

I do take into account I could have used more but I don't have the need now everything is done on mobile apps..

Has anyone else been affected by this practice ?

Yes, you were informed correctly, once you cancel ink subscription ink cartridge ( including the ones in the printer) will stop working, and you need to use store bought ink cartridges. 

You are paying for printed pages, not for ink cartridges, big difference. Ink cartridges are free of charge from HP but when you cancel subscription free ink cartridges will no longer work.
