HP OfficeJet Pro 9110b

Hi,

We had an issue where we either lost during unboxing or did not have the setup cartridges provided in the Box the printer came with. Now we cannot finish the setup and are stuck at "Use SETUP Cartridges" error.

Is there any way to bypass this error, or do bring the printer to warranty?

Hi @DomB3

Thank you for your response,

To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Unfortunately restoring the printer to factory defaults just leads us to the same error window during setup.

HP printers that require setup cartridges usually won’t complete the initial setup without them. Here are a few things you can try:

🔹 Double-check the box – Sometimes, the setup cartridges are in a smaller compartment within the packaging. If they’re missing, check with the retailer or HP support to confirm if they were included.

🔹 Try a Hard Reset
1️⃣ Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
2️⃣ Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
3️⃣ Try setting it up again to see if the error clears.

🔹 Contact HP Support – If the setup cartridges are missing or lost, HP may be able to send a replacement or offer an alternative solution. Provide your printer model and serial number when contacting them.

Unfortunately, there's no official way to bypass the setup cartridge requirement, so if the printer still won’t proceed, you may need to request replacement cartridges or check warranty options.

Hope this helps!
