I just bought a brand new ink color cartridge so I could so I could print ~30 5x7 postcards on card stock. Only 16 postcards in, I'm already low on ink. I wanted high quality prints, but how could there possibly be so little ink in a new cartridge/how could my printer be using so much ink? It would actually be cheaper to pay a service or business to design and print cards for me than to print it myself at home. Is my printer malfunctioning, it's only a couple years old? Should I just throw it in the trash and start paying businesses to print for me?

Could be normal - regular cartridges do not print as much as do the "XL" versions.

So essentially if you need high quality color prints it's more economic to just go to FedEx and have them print for you. Lesson learned, ~$2 a page to print at home. Definitely not worth it.
