Hello, the other day I inserted a new colour cartridge in my HP Envy Photo 6220 printer.
I peeled off the strip on the 303 cartridge and as I was fitting it into the cartridge bay in the printer I noticed a couple of very small blobs of ink coming from it and landing into the cartridge bay. They were very small and and I wiped them away with a kitchen towel.
Is this normal when fitting a new cartridge or does it mean the cartridge is leaking? Will the printer tell me if the cartridges are leaking?
Also, the white Waste ink pad inside appears to have 'disappeared'. I can't see it anymore! There is a very small hole near a screw underneath each cartridge bay inside a small flat white casing directly underneath the cartridge but the much larger waste pad that was there when I got the printer new I can't see anymore! Does the residue ink pads need replacing? The printer is printing perfectly with no marks or splodges on the paper and I don't want to unscrew screws and spoil the printer. Is changing the pads a complicated process? How do I go about it? Is it even necessary? Some advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
