I have problems with printing on transparent foil. Actually I have this problem one day, and the other day everything is normal.

The problem is that I have some kind of smearing around the print result, as you can see on the attached image.

When it is present I cannot solve it. I tried calibration, I tried using different media type in the driver option. Usually I choose "Opaque film", but I tried transparency, label... etc. Then I give up. Next it works. It is just driving me crazy as I cannot rely on this unstable process.

You mention that you have tried changing the driver settings, but are you setting the options on the printer itself for the type of media you are using. Driver settings do not always apply reliably depending on programs being used.

Sorry, this didn't solve this.

I got one suggestion the other day that I should check that it might be static loading. I will try to avoid it in my next trials.
